See → http://www.fom.be/contents/view/general-competition-rules

2. Competition Rules

  • The latest official patch will be used in the tournament. Be sure to update your client before packing at home.

  • If there is a discussion between both teams regarding the tournament, at least one representative of each team will have to come to the compo desk and explain the problem to the StarCraft 2 admins. They will decide what to do.

2.1 Compo overview

Title: StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm 2v2

Size: Fast

Max Teams: 32

Game type: 2v2

In-game group: “FoM Compo”

Compo Structure: Single Elimination brackets

2.2 Sign in

  • Players must have an active Battle.net account with a legal Europe StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm edition on it.

  • Players have to register their username + identifier when they sign up for the StarCraft 2 competition.

  • All players have to join the in-game group “FoM Compo”. Most of the communication between the admins and the players will happen through News Posts in this group. In case of issues joining this group, contact an admin in-game.

  • When checking in, don’t forget to give your seat numbers, this will help you find your opponent or your opponent finding you in case of an AFK.

2.2.1 Schedule

  • Final check in at Saturday 13:00.

  • Single Elimination bracket play starts at Saturday 14:00.

2.2.2 Submitting results

  • Scores will be admitted through the Frag-o-Matic website (www.fom.be). If an admin is available scores can be submitted through them as well.

2.3 Compo Rules

Before the match

  • Players must be online and available at the designated times of their match. A 15 minute grace period applies.

  • All teams must show initiative to contact their opponent. If your opponent is not responding in-game, the seatmap must be used to physically contact your opponents. In case of an AFK, the admin must be notified.

  • While playing a tournament game it is required to switch your status to “busy”. If you get caught with another status you’ll get a warning.

  • The team with the highest ladder rank hosts the tournament game. When the game gets live streamed it will be hosted by a registered live streamer or an admin. They will invite both teams.

  • The ladder map pool will be used:

    • Crystal Pools

    • Infestation

    • Katherine Square

    • Omicron

    • Seething Jungle

    • Sludge City

    • Wolfe Industries Compound

During the match

  • No unapproved programs may be running during any matches. Acceptable programs may be determined by an admin, but generally include: music, hardware monitoring, antivirus.

  • Players may not communicate with anyone during their game besides their teammate, opponents and admins.

  • The use of default skins for units is not mandatory.

  • In case of a tie (detected by StarCraft 2 in-game or when both teams agree on a tie situation) a rematch will be played.

  • Pauses for issues not related to either connection or hardware are not allowed. Pausing the game without a valid reason will result in a warning.

  • Players are allowed to chat in a tournament game. They’ll have to do this in a proper way and do it with good sportsmanship. Inappropriate chatter will result in a warning.

After the match

  • Both players must submit and confirm the result of a match. This can be done on the website or through an admin.

  • Replays must be provided to an admin when requested. If a reply cannot be provided a rematch will take place.

Scheduling issues

  • You are allowed to play in multiple compos. For example, if you want play in both StarCraft II 1v1 and 2v2, that is fine. If due to scheduling issues you have to play matches in both competitions, the 1v1 will take precedence over the 2v2 (so you will have to forfeit your 2v2 match).

  • You are allowed to play games ahead of schedule. However, if doing so results in delaying or messing up the schedule of another compo, walkovers are the player’s own responsibility!

Disconnect / Leaves

  • In case of a player disconnecting the resume from replay function will be used, unless an admin can confirm that 1 team was severely ahead in which case a win will be awarded. If the resume from replay function cannot be used for any reason a rematch will be played.

  • In case of internet, battle.net or hardware issues the game can be paused. If after a pause the issue is not resolved, the game will be resumed from replay or a rematch will take place.

Cheating

  • Any form of cheating will not be tolerated. If an admin determines a player is cheating their team will be immediately disqualified and removed from the tournament and the offending player may be restricted from participating in future events.

  • Seeing your opponents monitor is also considered cheating.

  • Collusion and Match Fixing: players are not allowed to intentionally alter the results of any match. If an admin determines matches were fixed, the offending player(s) will be immediately disqualified and removed from the tournament and may be restricted from participating in future events. Players must compete to the best of their abilities at all times (fair play!).

Observers

  • Compo admins and registered livestreamers can at all times request to join a tournament game. Other observers are only allowed when both players agree. Inviting unwanted observers will result in a warning.

  • Observer who slow down the game or have connection issues must leave the game as soon as possible. Tournament games with observers leaving for whatever reason will not be replayed because of it.

Other

  • Players are allowed to change race after each map.

  • A player who received 2 warnings will be disqualified from the tournament. All unplayed matches of a disqualified player will be forfeited.

3. Compo Structure

Starting map: Veto started by highest seed, followed by loser’s pick.

Brackets: Single Elimination Best of 3. Teams will be seeded by the admins.

Finals: Best of 5
