1 General Information
1.1 Tournament Overview
Title: Frag-o-Matic CS Tournament
Dates: Friday 12th February - Sunday 14th February 2009
Game Version Played: Counter-Strike
Maximum Competitors: 32 teams of at least five members each
1.2 Tournament Staff
- The CS head organizer is Emilien
- The CS head admin is Elke

1.3 Tournament registration
- Every team has to register on Friday before 12pm
- All the captains will have to be present at the Gamevibes arena on Saturday 9:30 am
1.4 Format And Behaviour
- The tournament will be played with Counter-Strike v.1.6
- The tournament will be playing with Max Rounds 15
- The game can end after a team has reached 16 rounds
- The top 2 of each group will advance to the playoffs.
- Round differences will be counted and taken into account.
- The final will be played in as Single Elimination.
- The winner coming up from the Lower Bracket will need to win 2 maps in the Grand Final in order to win.
- The winner coming up from the Higher Bracket will only need to win 1 map in order to win the Grand Final.
- Round Time is 1:45 (1:75 in the server config).
- Friendly fire is ON.
- 32bit shall be used. otherwise penalties.
- Shield is NOT allowed. If it is accidentally bought, the shield should be immediatly dropped at spawn, and no-one, including the opposit side, is allowed to pick it up.
- If the rule is ignored, and a shield is used, the team in which the person used the shield shall have 2 rounds taken off their final score.
- We demand that all teams shall remain mature and behave properly - on and off the server.
- If an Admin believes that the rule above has been inappropriately followed then he or she is allowed to give penalty rounds for the following game.
- Extremely bad attitudes, harassment and physical abuse will be punished with exclusion of the tournament and if needed, of the event.
- Admins always have the last word, admins' words are rules. However, if you believe that the Admin is incorrect, please speak to your Head Admin BEFORE your next game.
- Any Admin of your selected game (Counter-Strike 1.6 in this case) can set a punishement he desires for breaking any specific rule stated in this document.
- If you believe that a changement of rule or a rule is wrong, talk to an admin BEFORE match start.
- Rules can be subjected to be modified whilst the tournament is playing - players will be informed.
- Admins and players can co-operate in order to improve a rule as long as it doesn't come in one particular team or players favor.
- If one team cannot participate in the last minute, the game will be signed as a Walk over and 16 rounds will be attributed to the teams assigned to play against them.
- If the full team (5 players) is not present 15 minutes after the appointed match start time, they will be disqualified. Unless they have talked to an admin which has authorised a delay of the game.
- The server on which the 2 teams will be playing on will be appointed by an admin.
- Real nicknames and clan tag is needed - can be penalized.
- In-eye demos of every game in the tournament shall be provided and can be asked at any time. If failure to provide demo on demand - penalties will be given.
- If a problem occures in game, the player shall immediatly raise is hand to alert an admin.
- If due to external problems (such as seen at FOM11) the games are not able to go through at the time originally announced, the teams will not be forfeited but instead a more reasonable time will be appointed for both teams to be able to play.
- Overtime will be played as MaxRound 3 with $16 000 start money
1.4 Guidelines
The following are not rules but should be used as guidelines to make the tournament run as smoothly as possible
- We encourage players to be present at their desk 10 minutes before play-time.
- Remember that at one point, you too were a bad player and had to learn the ways, respect other players like you would like them to respect you.
- We highly discourage having drinks and food next to your computer station.
1.5 Demos and screenshots
- After each side, every team captain has to take a screenshot of that side being played, showing the scores and the kill death ratio of the players in the right team. In-eye Demo’s are obliged.
1.6 Spectators
- No spectators of any kind will be allowed in game other than the designated admin for that game.
1.7 Team Name Convention
- When in the server prior to match start, all team players must be tagged up with the same tag that they signed up with. This is to help with disputes and tracking with the server logs.
1 Counter-Strike 1.6 in game Rules
2.1 Maps
Three maps will be chosen to be played during the groupstage. Any maps from the following list can be chosen to be played in the playoffs.
- de_dust2 (chosen for groupstages)
- de_inferno (chosen for groupstages)
- de_train (chosen for groupstages)
- de_nuke
- Cpl_mill
- Overturning a map decision is impossible, unless by a Head Admin. If new maps are added players will be informed.
2.2 Boosts and Bugs
- Exploitation of Various bugs in the maps is forbidden
- Boosts are allowed anywhere as long as it doesnt conflict with the first rule.
- Up to three man boosts are allowed - only the man at the top of the tower is allowed to reach the desired location - not two players at a time.
Following rules applied to the following maps (if unclear, an admin will show you).
de_nuke:
- Boosts through the roof in the yellow hut is FORBIDDEN - penalties will be applied
- Red rock or "ECO-rock" (the one near T-spawn next to main-roof) is ALLOWED to be on (see three man boost rule).
- Sliding up concret wall next to Terrorist red crate, outside, is FORBIDDEN - penalties will be applied.
- 2 man boosts in the vents in order to arrive on top of the vents is FORBIDDEN - penalties will be applied.
- Flashbugs are FORBIDDEN - penalties will be applied - unless it was an accident, something which an admin will decide.
- Silent planting is FORBIDDEN - penalties will be applied
- Wallbanging is allowed (and highly recommended!)
- Getting squeeky door stuck with a grenade is FORBIDDEN - penalties will be applied.
- Defusing through the floor from Lower is allowed.
de_train:
- You are not allowed to look underneath the "flying walls" (including from CT spawn).
- No smoke or flash bugs by getting grenade stuck underneath train.
de_dust2:
- Planting in bombsite A in order for the bomb to sink in the green crate and "dissapear" is not allowed - will be penalised.
- The 2 man boost on the top of the wall on short in order to have an overview for short and long is FORBIDDEN - will be penalised.
- Sliding on the rocks from the Window in B to the middle is allowed.
- Flashing over walls (ie: over short or from T-mid to CT mid) is allowed.
de_inferno
- Boosting in sniper window is allowed
- Boosting on top of the grey wall next to library is allowed (see 3 man boost rule).
- Boosting on mid/2nd mid roof is allowed.
- Flashing over walls is allowed (ie: from banana into B or second mid to quad).
- "Silent plants" are FORBIDDEN. If done accidently, you shall immediatly tell the opponent that you silent planted and in which site. Round penalties will be given if not followed (up to three round penalties)
- High plants" which disables the bomb to be defused is FORBIDDEN.
- To use grenade bugs is FORBIDDEN
- If a flash bug is accidently used the admin may deside to let it slip, otherwise one round penalty. If however it is done again, a 3 round penalty will be given.
- If a flash bug is used for a third time on the same map, the team will be disqualified.
- If there is a flash bug incident that an admin missed, you must provide proof with your in-eye demos.
- If a team breaks rule, one penalty round will be appointed if nothing else is said.
2.3 Server config

- If a server crashes within the first three rounds, the match will be restarted. If it happens in the first three rounds of the second half then the first half still stands.
- If the server crashes after/during the fourth round then all rounds will remain, except the one on which the crash happened and teams will continue playing the end of the half with $4 600 start money.
2.4 Cheating
- Any form of cheat spotted will result in immediate disqualification from the whole team, and a permanent ban from the event of the player and/or team concerned.
- Switching to spectator whilst the game is in progress is FORBIDDEN - penalties will be applied.
2.5 Knife Round
- All players shall meet at the most adequate place in the map (usually "mid"). Should anyone come from the back (sneak behind) that team will lose the round.
- If a round ends before all players are dead. The team with the most players alive wins.
- Body armor can be bought.
- Flashes, smokes and HE are FORDBIDDEN - if used, team will automatically lose round.
2.6 Pausing the game
- Pausing in the middle of the game is FORBIDDEN.
- Pause is only allowed at the end of a round or during freeze time.
- The only exception is if a players accidently drops off the server or his computer crashes - then the game will be paused, no matter what round time it is.
- If a player "accidently" pauses in the middle of round, that players team will lose 1 round.
- The team that pauses is also the team that unpauses, no exceptions
- 3 pauses per game per team are allowed - every following pause will give 1 penalty round.
- If the other team unpauses, even if it was an accidental pause, they will lose one round.
- You are only allowed to pause due to a technical problem or physical emergency (this does not include an extreme toilet break).
- The game is only allowed to be delayed a maximum of 10 minutes during a pause.
- A 10 minute team chat between first and second half is allowed - alert an admin. 10 minutes maximum.
- This will be to ensure that everyone is on an even playing field by using the same server config settings.
