This edition we have a 64 teams compo and this is a short explanation to how we are planning to do this.
You can sign up for this compo as of now!
First of all, yes the compo will start on the Friday of FoM, just like last year!
We’ll start off with one big compo by dividing the teams into poules of 4, here the teams can fight for a spot in the pro part of the CS:GO competition.
When the compo divides into pro and semi-pro, after playing the pool stage, the top 2 of every pool will push through to the pro brackets and the last 2 will enter the semi-pro brackets (these brackets will also have a lower bracket). This will make up 2 new separate competitions, giving everybody a fair chance in playing several games and winning prizes. This means no one will be eliminated before the brackets.
The upper-bracket matches will all be played best of 3 (unless there is a time shortage).
The lower-bracket matches will all be played best of 1, and the final will be played BO3/BO5 with a map advantage for the team coming from the upper brackets.
This means there will be 2 finals this edition of Frag-o-Matic: PRO and semi-PRO, each having their own prizes.
There are also some changes to the map list. This year’s new map list contains:
- de_dust2
- de_inferno
- de_nuke
- de_cache
- de_mirage
- de_overpass
- de_cbblestone
Be sure to read the rulebook. We’ve made some adjustments regarding hardware cheats (e.g. bloody).
See you guys at Frag-o-Matic 17.0
