League of legends is one of the giants of the MOBA genre, with 67 million players monthly. Also the most watched game in the world, with its World championship reaching 32 million viewers.
And even if today this game can boast about being the most played game and having the most active community, very few events put the latter forward. So a group of passionate gamers have decided to fix this by launching League Tour, the first European convention entirely dedicated to the universe of League of Legends.
Our project unites the 3 main dimensions of the game, Entertainment, Creation and Challenge, into a single convention. To achieve this, League tour is divided into multiple zones, each with their own theme and set of activities. Take as an example , the jungle, filled with all sorts of games revisited in the theme of League of legends, come discover Pac man, connect-four or space invaders with this new twist. Or the E-stage, where the finals of our amateur championship, with 128 competing for a prize pool of 15000 euros, match analyses, conferences and more will take place. The League Tour is composed of 6 zones, over 75 activities and over a hundred special guests. All this is based on the demand of the public. Our goal is to have each player find his place, not just as a simple spectator, but as an actor in his event.
The community was our main focus during the creation process, helping us define their needs and wishes. This allowed us to create different zones to be able to satisfy every player, such as the Arena, Mundo’s lab or Sona’s workshop.
It’s in this context of co-creation that we’ve decided to call for crowdfunding to finance a part of this event. League Tour is already a concrete project; this crowdfunding will help us improve the event by offering better comfort to the visitors, a larger prize pool, more special guests, and a better quality for our live broadcast of the event and championship. Every euro collected will go to improving League Tour and enhancing the experience.
League Tour is an ambitious project, and to succeed we’ll need your support. Our long-term goal is to become a household name, offering unique experiences to gamers all around the world. We want to give players the event of their dreams, and have them build it with us, by sharing their wishes and opinions with us via our various online platforms.
Our convention will take place in Brussels, on the 24th and 25th of October 2015. Brussels, the capital of Europe, will be put forward on this weekend. And we’ll welcome 10000 visitors from Belgium and neighboring countries.
