Frag-O-Matic 14.0 Starcraft 2 Rulebook

1. Players bring their own keyboard, mouse, headset, monitor and computer with them. It is also possible to rent a computer and monitor from Frag-O-Matic, this should be arranged online and before the event starts.


2. Players must have an active Battle.net account with a legal Europe Starcraft 2 edition on it.


3. Players will have to register their username + identifier (three numbers) when they sign up for the Starcraft 2 competition.


4. Players are obligated to save all their replays of tournament games. When a match is finished these replays need be delivered to the Starcraft 2 Compo admin by one of both parties. As long as we don’t have the replays the results are invalid and both players will be disqualified from the tournament.

 

General Rules

1. The last official patch will be used in the tournament, so be sure to update your client before packing at home.

2. In case of problems regarding the internet, battle.net, a computer or monitor that game will have to be replayed. In case of a Bo3 or Bo5 the earlier games in that series will be valid but the current game will have to be replayed.

3. When a player doesn’t finish his games within the agreed time, he will be disqualified immediately and his opponent will go through to the next round with a forfeit win.
4. In case of a discussion between two opponents regarding the tournament, both players will have to come to the compo desk and explain the problem to the starcraft 2 admin. He will decide what to do.

 

Rules regarding Starcraft 2

1. In case of hardware or connection problems, players are allowed to pause there game, they however have to inform the starcraft 2 admin. When the game is paused for another reason (also for no reason) the responsible player will get a warning. If this player gets a second warning he will be disqualified from the tournament immediately.

2. Players are allowed to chat in a tournament game. They’ll have to do this in a polite way and do it with good sportsmanship. If a player violates this rule, he’ll get a warning. If this player gets a second warning he will be disqualified from the tournament immediately.

3. Players aren’t allowed to see their opponents monitor. If you get caught while doing this, in any form whatsoever, you’ll be disqualified from the tournament immediately.

4. While playing a tournament game it is required to switch your status to “busy”. If you get caught with another status you’ll get a warning. If you get a second warning, you will be disqualified from the tournament immediately.

5. When you get caught while cheating or hacking, in any form whatsoever, you’ll be disqualified from the tournament immediately.

6. The first map of every round is fixed. These will be found on the intranet website and the projection screens. More information can always be found with the Starcraft 2 admin, whom you can find at the compo desk. The loser can choose a new map from the map pool. One map can only be played one time in one Bo3 or Bo5 serie.

7. Players are obligated to keep the same race during one round. They can’t change their race until the next round.

8. Players that leave the game before the match is finished and/or before he/she got permission from the Starcraft 2 compo admin, automatically forfeit that match.

9. The player with the highest seed hosts the tournament game.

10. Only compo Admins and Broadcasters can join a tournament game as an observer. If a player invites another observer in the game, he’ll get a warning. When this player gets a second warning he will be disqualified from the tournament immediately.

11. If a player loses connection during a tournament game, his/her opponent hast to wait in-game. If the timer reaches 0 and the remaining player disconnects, the game has to be replayed, no matter what the situation in-game was.

12. If an observer disconnects from a game, both players continue with their game. The tournament game has to be continued.

13. The high seed player has to play as the red player, while the low seed player has to play as the blue player.

14. In the case that all minerals on the map are used up and no buildings or units are destroyed in a time limit of 5 (in-game) minutes, the game has to be replayed.

15. All players start in a pool of 5 players per pool. The top 2 players of every pool continue to the double brackets. All pool games are played in Bo3 format, in which the players have to eliminate maps until 1 map remains. The player with the highest score starts eliminating.

16. The first maps of the bracketseries are fixed, de next map is decided by the loser of the first map. When you lose a match in the winner brackets, you will be entered into the loser brackets. When you lose in the loser brackets, you are eliminated from the tournament.

17. In the grand finale, the player that comes from the winner brackets will gain a 1 point lead in the Bo5 series.

18. The final and the match for the 3rd place will be played in a Bo5 mode.
