Hearthstone Rulebook

1. General Information

1.1 Tournament Format

  • Participants: Flexible (average: 24 players).
  • Game Mode: Standard Conquest.
  • Match Type: Best of 5.
  • Platform: Players must use the Hearthstone desktop or mobile client.
  • Deck Rules: Each player must submit 4 decks from different classes.

1.2 Tournament Structure

The tournament format adapts to the number of participants:

  • Phase 1: Swiss Rounds

    • Players compete in a predetermined number of rounds (based on participants).
    • Top players based on match wins advance to the next phase.
  • Phase 2: Single Elimination Bracket

    • Qualified players are seeded into a single-elimination bracket.
    • Matches remain Best of 5, Conquest format, until a champion is determined.

2. Rules and Regulations

2.1 Match Rules

  1. Deck Submission: (https://www.hsguru.com/deckviewer)
    • Players must submit 4 decks from different classes before the tournament begins. (DM decklists in discord to nlbouncyknight)
    • Deck submissions are locked for the duration of the tournament.
  2. Ban Phase:(https://hs.crasher.ch/deckselect/)
    • At the start of each match, players ban 1 deck from their opponent's lineup.
    • Banned decks cannot be used during the match.
  3. Conquest Rules:
    • Players must win one game with each of their remaining decks to win the match.
    • Once a player wins with a deck, they cannot use it again in the match.
  4. Game Start:
    • Both players must add each other in Hearthstone and start their match within 15 minutes of pairing announcement.
  5. Technical Issues:
    • If a disconnect occurs, you can reconect and continue the game.

2.2 Match Conduct

  • Reporting Results:
    • After a match concludes, both players must report the result to the tournament admin.
  • Sportsmanship:
    • Toxic behavior, harassment, or unsportsmanlike conduct will result in penalties, including potential disqualification.

3. Scoring and Advancement

3.1 Swiss Rounds

  • Players are awarded points based on match outcomes:
    • Win: 1 point
    • Loss: 0 points
  • Standings are determined by total points, with tiebreakers based on opponent match win percentage.

3.2 Single Elimination

  • Top players (4/8) from the Swiss phase are seeded into the single-elimination bracket.
  • Matches remain Best of 5, with winners advancing until a champion is crowned.

 

4. Player Responsibilities

  • Account: Players must log in with their own Hearthstone account.
  • Deck Submission: Ensure that decks are submitted before the deadline.
  • Start on time: Players must be starting the games within 15 minutes after pairing.
  • Behavior: Maintain respect for all participants, staff, and spectators.
  • Technical Preparedness: Players must ensure their device and internet connection are functional before the tournament begins.

5. Administration

5.1 Dispute Resolution

  • Any disputes must be reported to the Tournament Admin immediately.
  • The Tournament Admin’s decisions are final.

6. Additional Rules

  • Streaming: Players may stream their matches but must use a delay of at least 5 minutes to prevent unfair advantages.
  • Late Arrivals: Players arriving more than 15 minutes late may forfeit their match.
  • Deck Submission Deadline: Friday 28 February 22:00
  • Registration Closing: Friday 28 February 22:00
  • Phase 1 Start: Friday 28 February 22:30 (A full round schedule wil be given in discord after closing registration) 
  • Single Elimination Start: Saturday 1 march 20:00
  • Finals Start: Sunday 2 march 13:30
  • Award Ceremony: Sunday 2 march 16:00
