FOM CS:GO team
Within a few hours Fom will start again and there will be fantastic compo’s on the schedule again ,that have some awesome prizes .
It is not meant to enter more than one grand compo,this due to shortage of time.
It is possible to combine a grand compo with a normal compo, except when these compo matches are played at the same moment.
Fast compo’s are normally easy to combine and have a broader deadline.
We will put the 15min rule to work! This means : a player that is 15 min late for a game without a valid reason or without permission of the admin will receive a forfait score. So be on time and at all times follow the timeschedule made by the admins.
It is not necessary to hand over yours scores at the compo desk (with the blue lights). You are able to fill out your scores on the website.
The compo desk (with blue lights) will deal with all problems involving your compo. Here the admin can (if necessary) meet you and discuss problems. All problem with computers/network/servers/... are handled at the HELPDESK(red lights).

666-gamers are inviting the participants of FoM 16.1 to come ot their booth to sign up for the Alien Arena compo. During the compo you'll be able to take a seat in some great chairs provided by Speedseat. A few of these chairs will be equipped with the Earthquake system.
The 666-gamers are counting on you to show up at their booth!
Because of a few cancelled orders there are still around 30 “last minute” tickets available at the entrance. You can buy such a ticket through the “service lane” at the entrance of FoM 16.1 for the price of 50 EUR cash.
You will then be able to take one of the white or hatched (locked) seats on the seatmap:

If you still have unassigned tickets, or didn’t reserve a spot on the seatmap yet, then you will have to do this before you come to FoM or you will have to go through the “service lane” before you can use your ticket.

ENTRANCE
Don't forget to print out your FoM ticket and to bring it with you, with your ticket printed out you can check in through the fast lane, which is… faster :-) You can find your ticket in your profile (login on the site, click your name on the right side of the navigation bar), also check your first and last name to prevent problems at the check-in.
If you would like to receive a free SMS when your catering order is ready, then make sure you have provided your mobile number in your profile.
A small amount of personal food or drinks is allowed. But it is not allowed to bring prepared food (pizza/fries/...) in the hall unless it comes from the FoM catering. If you carry more than 15 cans or bottles of drinks per person through the entrance, it will not be considered for personal use only ;-)
COMPETITIONS
The night before it’s best you start your games to download the latest updates if necessary.
For all competitions it is important that your seat on the seatmap is the one registrered on your name on fom.be, if you want to swap your seat with a friend, use the swap seat function (if you bought a group ticket) or cancel both seats and register the right one (if you bought your tickets yourself). If the admins or your opponents can't find you on your seat when you have to play a match, you risk a default loss.
SAFETY
A massive lanparty like FOM needs a strong organisation. Our crewmembers work very hard to realise this, and they do this voluntary. They do this to make your lan-gaming-experience the best. Therefore we ask to follow the instructions of the crew at all times.
In order to be able to evacuate in case of emergency, it is not allowed to sleep on the floor in the main event hall, or to drop airbeds/sleeping gear in the hallways. There is a 2nd hall in the complex which is completely empty and silent, where you can sleep. As long as this sleeping hall is not full, every airbed or sleeping gear in the main hall, especially near the emergency exits, can be removed by the crew without warning.
We ask for complete silence in the sleeping hall. If you have an electric pump, use it in the main hall and then transport your sleeping gear to the sleeping hall. Tents are not allowed. A 2-person mattress for only 1 person is not allowed.
Because there is often a lot of garbage on the floor, we will provide every table with a garbage bag with closing ribbon. Please use this garbage bag to collect your garbage instead of throwing it on the floor. This way, your team spots will still be clean on Sunday and you will not have to run away for the bad smell ;-)
HELPDESK
On the event you can go to the helpdesk if you have a question. If you don't have a network cable, you can buy one at the helpdesk. You can also buy catering tickets with debit or credit card at the helpdesk. Cash payments for catering tickets are still possible at the catering bar.

Dearest gamers, from the moment you'll arrive at FoM 16.1, you've put your pc on its place and you're ready to make this yet again a fantastic lanparty, please be mindful where you plug in your cables.
The Roman empire once was great and powerful, in the same way this holds true for the power infrastructure that's built for you over and over again by crewmembers of FoM. But where the Roman empire went down under, we don't want this to happen with your electricity. That part of history won't be repeated.
Below each row of tables, there are a number of power distribution blocks spread out in a way that everyone has his own socket in the middle of each table.
Be courteous for other participants; don't move the power distribution blocks and limit your usage to one single socket. Make sure to bring your own non-fused, switchless distribution block with you.
A neat distribution is shown in the image below. Note that the distribution blocks with three outlets (ofcourse, in reality this can be 2,4 or more) need to be supplied by yourselves.
Keep it neat, don't make endless chains of distribution blocks!
This way, we can make sure that every single PC will continue to operate.
Responsability of participants
Just as is mentioned in the rules and regulations, bringing or connecting heavy electric loads such as heaters and airconditioning units, as well as loudspeakers is prohibited
When in doubt, you can make an inquiry with the organisation. Everyone who enters the premises of the Oktoberhallen, implicitly accepts these rules and regulations.
Pay attention to beverages that have the potential to fall! Bring empty bottles back to the bar and dispose of your garbage in the garbage bags.
In the rare occurence that a section of your row loses its mains power, never try to rectify the failure on your own! Instead, immediately inform helpdesk staff so they can designate a crew member to resolve this technical problem. Don't forget to mention your row, place, nickname and perhaps the scale of the problem (your place, you and your neighbour, the whole row,...).
Make this an exciting lanparty! The power team of FoM is ready for it!

Who doesn't want to win a some nice gaming gear? This is why we are handing out a whole gear setup. But in order to win it, you'll need to do something.
Put on the TeamSpeak shirt from the bag that you'll receive upon entering FoM. Take a funny, great, serious or creative picture of yourself in this picture or let someone else take the picture. Next step is to send the picture to fotoactie@fom.be. We will upload the photos that we receive every morning on Saturday, Sunday and Monday into the designated album on our Facebook page.

Met het starten van het nieuwe schooljaar zijn vele niet gesubsidieerde scholen in nood door gebrek aan goed schoolmateriaal.Vooral op gebied van ICT laat dit zich voelen.
Mijn vrouw geeft les op het St-Anna college op Linkeroever (Antwerpen).
Op school heeft men hier zeer oude computers staan, en dan spreek ik echt van de jaren stilletjes.
De helft van de computers werken niet meer aan de snelheidsnormen van vandaag of werken soms zelfs niet.
Het is geen gesubsidieerde school (VVKSO) en daarom moet de school zelf materiaal zoeken, wat niet altijd even gemakkelijk is in deze tijden. Helaas heeft St-Anna er ook geen budget voor.
Daarom een oproep aan iedereen die dit leest.
Hebben jullie (nog niet al te) oude Pc's, beamers, schermen (geen CRT), laptop ’s ……. (laat ons zeggen materiaal van max 5j oud) waar je niks meer mee doet, en dat uiteraard nog werkt. Volledige systemen genieten uiteraard de voorkeur boven afzonderlijke onderdelen.
En willen jullie deze doneren aan de school zodat de leerlingen daar hun toekomst beter kunnen uitbouwen ? Dan zou deze school u daar superhard dankbaar voor zijn.
De school St-Anna zou dit zeker op prijs stellen voor de studenten secundair onderwijs. Onze leerlingen zijn de toekomst, en jouw materiaal draagt een mooie steen bij in dit project, hoe klein ook.

CS:GO changes and time schedule
We would like to state some more info for the CS:GO competition:
1. We have invested in some new hardware. We’ll host multiple war en public servers at FoM 16.1 for everyone to enjoy. Each match needs to be played on the given time and server (ip adres). The password for the war server is “fom” except the server used for the finals.
2. We would like for every team to send us the Steam name of the team captain. All communications from our admins to every clan will be done through Steam. The Steam name of the captain can be mailed to compo@fom.be. Each captain will receive an invite for our Steam group in which we will do global announcements.
3. We’ll be organizing 1 fun competition with prizes for our semi-pro teams. All dropouts from the GRAND compo can still continue playing this way. This fun compo cannot be joined by teams witch are still competing in the GRAND competition. More info will be released at FoM as the rest is a surprise :)
4. Our time schedule will be the same as previous edition. 48 teams with 6 team per poule; top 1 and 2 continue to the Upper Bracket, top 3 and 4 continue to the Lower Bracket.

As mentioned earlier, everyone has to start at the scheduled start time. if the opposite team is not present before the indicated start time, a forfeit can be requested.
This forfeit only counts when the scores aren't filled in on the FoM website before the deadline. (Important: the scores will not be placed on the Prog4mer website anymore) If the scores aren’t on the FoM website before the deadline, a forfeit will be given.
In other words, we won’t come asking for scores.
Starting times imply: being present on the server with your entire team at the scheduled time, preferably 5 minutes in advance. This is because the veto starts on the start time. If 2 teams are able to play earlier than the indicated time, then naturally you are allowed to play earlier (when both teams have agreed to this and have given notice to the admin).
End Times (deadlines) imply: Scores haven’t been filled in before the indicated end time = forfeit for both teams (in case there are no technical difficulties): Pool matches start on Friday at 23:00 and end on Saturday at 14:00. Brackets start on Saturday at 15:00.
The communication will be done using our Steam group. Any related compo problems can be reported at our compodesk; for technical problems visit our helpdesk. The rulebook can still be adjusted according to all needs.
